THIS WEBSITE IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING CHANGED TO THE SOUTH AFRICAN BOOK DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
TWO PIONEERING STUDIES WERE RELEASED THROUGH A GALA DINNER WITH A KEYNOTE ADDRESS BY THE HONOURABLE DR Z. PALLO JORDAN, MINISTER OF ARTS AND CULTURE ON 17 JUNE 2007.
"Reading is Fun"

Many South Africans do not have access to books and print media and South Africa has an inactive reading population.

Recognising that reading and literacy are essential to the well-being and development of a country like South Africa, the PICC's core purpose is bringing together key stakeholders to promote a culture of reading and literacy through coordinated joint ventures.

The Print Industries Cluster Council (PICC) was formed in 1999 to represent the book value chain.
Members include Paper Manufacturer's Association of South Africa (PAMSA),
Printing Industries Federation of South Africa (PIFSA)
, Publisher's Association of South Africa (PASA)
and the South African Bookseller's Association (SABA)
The PICC proudly acknowledges support from the National Department of Arts and Culture.
